Business & employers

Norfolk Training Services has been working with employers in Norfolk for nearly 40 years. During this time we have developed the expertise and understanding to be able to deliver your exact training needs.

We strive to fill the skills gap within the workforce, which means making businesses more productive and profitable and providing you with all the necessary training to develop each individual to achieve their highest potential.

Benefits for employers

Every individual works to our required standards, set by professional organisations, each clearly reflecting the needs of the industry in question. All our qualifications are nationally recognised and many companies report significant benefits in terms of staff motivation and feelings of a sense of achievement, with willingness to often take on more responsibility as a result.

The growth of a business depends on producing excellent quality and fantastic customer service. Key to this is having the skills and knowledge, which an NVQ clearly demonstrates, to show that an individual can carry out a job to a national standard.

The partnership has grown from strength-to-strength and several Diss employees have successfully completed NVQs in Team Leading and Management. We currently have one employee about to commence study for the NVQ Level 4 in Management and the service delivery provided by NTS advisors and support staff is second-to-none! Diss Promotional Services were recently accredited with the Investors in People standard and the partnership played with NTS has been of great significance to the company in achieving that status.’

FAQs

Where do the assessments take place?

NTS will require the employee to attend an initial induction, but the majority of the training will take place while the employee is at work, with regular visits from a qualified assessor.

How long will the apprenticeship take?

An apprenticeship is usually funded for about a year and an ‘advanced’ apprenticeship around two years, but it depends on the employee. Some complete this within six to nine months, providing they are willing to put the work in.

How is the training managed?

At NTS we work with you to decide on the right qualification for each employee and their assigned assessor will visit every four to five weeks at a convenient time to suit. The assessor will help the employee in their training and will provide support wherever it is needed.

Who decides what the course content will be?

Apprenticeships are designed by businesses for businesses. Because the Sector Skills Councils from each relevant sector decides on the course content, they really do understand your business, so the training will be relevant.

How do I find out more?

Simply contact one of our business advisors on 01603 259900 ext 231 for further enquiries or to arrange an appointment for an advisor to visit you. We will be happy to help you choose the right qualifications for your workforce.
